5 Questions to Ask Before You Sign with Any Cleaning Company

Not all commercial cleaning companies work the same way. Before you sign any contract, here's what to ask:

1. Are your cleaners employees or subcontractors?
Subcontractors mean less control, less accountability, and often no consistent training. W-2 employees mean the company stands behind their work.

2. Will the same person clean my facility every time?
Rotating crews don't learn your building. A permanently assigned cleaner builds standards and familiarity that shows in the quality.

3. How do you verify quality without a complaint?
If the answer is "we trust our team," that's not enough. Ask about checklists, inspections, and reporting.

4. What happens when something goes wrong?
Response time and escalation process matter more than the initial sales pitch. Ask specifically: how fast do you respond, and how do you document resolution?

5. Is this a month-to-month contract?
A company that requires a long-term lock-in is betting you won't leave. A company that works month-to-month is betting you won't want to.
